When I first read that the aircraft crashed into a wall, I assumed it veered way off the runway, but nope, there’s just a wall at the end of it.

In completely unrelated news, cruise ship passengers were around 12% higher in 2024 than 2023 and were significantly higher than pre-covid rates even.

Still, I’d rather meet a random person on the street with my birthday than poop uncontrollably with them!

1,894 sick passengers out of more than 17 million passengers leaving US ports?

The i8 has back seats! They’re about the same size as the rear seats in a BRZ/GT86, which means while they’re not ideal for humans, they’re great for putting your luggage in because the i8's trunk is tiiiny.

Anything not Tesla.

Even ignoring the politics, Model 3 is a coin flip imo. The M3 refresh is by all accounts a solid vehicle, but the company that makes it has problems. There’s the recent high profile recalls, the reputation for glacially slow repairs, the tendency to push out half baked features or delete other features, and their

2nd Gear: Mazda deserves to win, they make some of the best crossovers, and the profits subsidize the Miata. This won't stop my plan to sell my CX-5,  to buy a more interesting Mazda

My boss just replaced his 2002 Accord with 240k miles with a Mustang Mach-E, and he loves it.  Now that they have the bugs worked out, it is one of the most reliable EVs on the road.

I suggest the Tesla Cybertruck. Three of my co-workers have Cybertrucks and they love them and talk about them constantly.

2nd gear — bought 1st new car ever, Mazda CX-90 and it is f#cking fantastic. I can see why they’re kicking ass now.

Is anyone else surprised that Jalopnik is still on the Kinja platform? I figured that there would have been a changeover not long after it was sold like the other G/O sites that were sold, but it’s been over two months. I guess there will be a changeover sometime in the new year.

Correction “ Always too early to jump to patently insane conclusions”

I’m pushing for a used Ioniq 5 here. Shorter, 2.5 inches wider, upright and plenty of interior space, plus, actually fun. A fully loaded Limited easily comes in under 50k, and you gain room without a big footprint.

Possible connection - both are products of the same catastrophically inequitable society which is crumbling before our eyes?
