Exactly! It’s like saying every BMW driver is horrible.

One last comment on the evacuation drive yesterday. Just north of Tampa the state DOT opened up the left shoulder as a traffic lane on I-75 - MASSIVE help, we instantly went from 25-30mph to 45-50mph - and they had obviously run a street sweeper up the shoulder before they did it, as there was NOTHING on it in the way…
I got myself, my mother, and our two cats out yesterday. And we should have left Sunday in 20:20 hindsight. I’m halfway between Sarasota and Ft Myers, our preferred safe destination is a friend with lots of room in Raleigh, NC, and I actually need to be in this area next week for work anyway. It was an absolute…
The Fit is go.
Yes, they are the best, whichever generation.
St Pete’s gonna get it this time. That said, evac was 2pm yesterday and it was forecast ahead of time. People are imperfect especially in large groups, but the counties do try to stagger the departures to alleviate this, unfortunately for most it’s impossible, difficult, or the real problem procrastinated....so it…
Agreed - I’ve got a 2012 manual transmission Fit.
for me it was the pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix
Great little wagony hatch thing. underpowered but still lots of fun to drive. I owned two with manual everything including locks and windows. First gen was best but both good. Bulletproof reliable, handle great especially if you make some minor changes. And dirt cheap. Plus…
Take a call from the President, you fat little fascist. Fuck Republicans. They want to punish women for being women and they want to punish minorities for being minorities. They want to punish people for the way they were born. If you choose to be a Republican, you choose to be a racist idiot. Thoughts and prayers...
Apparently people were getting calls, three days after Helene ruined their homes, from people interested in buying the property. For some reason people just don’t care. Won’t care until Miami literally crumbles into the ocean, and even then they’ll probably just relocate to Ft Lauderdale.
This.
I wouldn’t count some of the newer houses out, it will depends on how they were designed and what they were engineered to withstand and their elevation. Sometimes it only takes the house being a couple feet higher to avoid the flooding.
I still stan the Del Sol. Is it just a Civic coupe with even less space? Sure. Is it a “settle for this” car for people who wanted a Prelude or an S2000 but didn’t get a raise that year? It almost certainly is! Did the Miata totally eat its lunch? Definitely. And I don’t care, because look at this adorable little…
There was an increase in car accidents the past few days up where I live as well. They are flooding this area.
Oh - and it’s not like we have other options to evacuate. The airports are shut down and we don’t exactly have mass transit.
The wild thing is how quickly the highways devolved. I was just in Florida on Saturday and the roads were clear, same with Atlanta when I was driving through on Sunday. By Monday, I heard from my connections down south that I-75 turned into a parking lot, which is nutty. Seems I somehow got in and out of Florida…
Traffic on I-75 North between Macon and Atlanta was a mess this morning with evacuees fleeing the storm, and gas prices as some stations have jumped $0.20/gal.
The pre face-lift Fiat Multipla with the headlights in the cowl. I love the concept and appreciate the looks. On a more practical level I still carry a torch for our 2nd generation Mazda5.
