Probably just for a clean look. That big cover over the engine also has sound deadening underneath it, which helps with noise, vibration and harshness.

Oh what a luxury that would be!

That’s good advice, thanks.

Mine is worth more to ME than it is to a buyer or a dealership. So I’m gonna drive it till the wheels come off. Probably sooner than I’d like. I want to replace it with something fuel efficient, dependable and with good visibility (and AC).

Yep, they claim to buy all products (including cars) using “secret shoppers” who act like any other random retail customer.

My 87 year old mother got scammed out of thousands in a remarkably dumb con, then blamed me, the only son of three who was ever there for her as somehow complicit. As I dealt with that and her anger at the slightest implication that it was somehow her fault, she then accidentally burned her house down with a microwavab

This is sad but only a problem if you want to trade or sell your car.  Keep making payments, keep driving and maintaining your car and there will not be a problem.  Except paying way too much in interest.

IIRC they used to buy their cars blind so the companies wouldn’t know it was CR buying it and do anything different from the norm for delivery. I’m not sure if they still do that.

Worst week of my life at least recently was getting major food poisoning to the point that if my house was on fire I would be happy to die. A few days ago got better I was scammed out of 15 thousand dollars with no recourse and no way to get it back. So yeah that was a bad week.

Wait, someone is going to actually do a review of a Cybertruck and not only use emojis?

Any interest I had in this article and sympathy I felt for the author quickly evaporated once he described deliberately exposing hotel staff, rideshare drivers, rental car employees, tow truck drivers, and god knows who else to COVID. #asshole

If you asked the question, “Who is Nissan?” or “Who is Ford?”, you would get confused looks. Maybe some people would name the CEO, if they even knew who it was.

To be fair, Hyundai has known about this part for a long time and has/had  chosen to leave it just like it is. Like losing virginity to a partner who casually mentions the day after that they tested positive for syphilis a week ago and maybe check with a doctor. Just spoils the mood.

Absolutely. Some of the lobotomies weren’t recent.

It required “an integrated vehicle system that uses, at minimum, the GPS location of the vehicle compared with a database of posted speed limits”. Who maintains that database? Who ensures that cars continue to receive those data? How quickly do they require those data be updated for road work, etc? It was a

True. That being said, I did a quick estimate of where the median is based on the top selling vehicles in 2023. I think the Median and the mean are pretty close.

102k for that delivery experience is absolutely hilarious. Do they have anybody that works there that has not had a recent lobotomy?

Get one of these.

I completely understand. When I buy beaters, I do not care much about nicks, dings and fixes. When I buy a new car, if it takes any damage in a collision or demonstrates a failure point, it goes straight from the shop to autotrader. New cars are supposed to be perfect for a lot longer than a year and a half. Once

Wow, a thought-provoking, honest to goodness write up! I’m sorry about your situation obviously, but thank you for that great read. Reminded me of the regular, entertaining write-ups we’d get from Torch, David Tracy and the like.
