My high school best friend was a car kid, and I was not. He eventually won me over to the Dark Side and I just liked what he told me to like, and he liked Corvettes. I thought for a while that my “dream car” was a ‘67 427 L88, red on red with black stinger hood and sidepipes. Then I came to the realization that I

Just leave a note that says “Thank you!” or something like that with the cash. Then they’ll know it’s a tip.

Yes, you are supposed to tip at Best Western and Hampton Inn. Just like you are supposed to tip at both the fancy steakhouse and the diner down the street.

For quite a long time. Decades and decades. It’s a personal service (someone cleaning up your room) for which you are, theoretically, gracious. Thus, a small gratuity. Worth every penny.

Same! I was always stressed about having enough to tip, and avoiding potential tip scenarios at all cost! I’d always tip housekeeping, even if it meant using change, because sometimes that’s all I had. I now tip 5/day for housekeeping, because I saw an Undercover Boss about how hard/fast they have to work, and I’ll

To be fair, their recent lagonda was much prettier than the past one...

This too... I had one of the very last E82 BMWs. It was a 135is and I hope the new owner loves it as much as I did.

Neutral - I think the EV credit should phase out with income.  The 200K+++ earners driving Teslas would do so without the credits.  The average slob debating a three year old Prius vs a shiny new Leaf could use a nudge.

I forgot the /s at the end of my post.

Yesterday I said this about the Tariff talk

Auto tariffs on virtually all non-UAW made vehicles would almost certainly trigger a recession. Can we kindly, slowly point the revolver away from our head and put it away? President Picture Book knows only one thing: how to make everything worse.

I assume you’re also in favor of getting rid of all the subsidies for the gas and oil industries as well? Their subsidies dwarf those given to renewables and EVs.

The Maverick name has been re-registered.....

The thing that bugs me about the CEL situation, is that it would be just as easy to build a car where the code and actual description of the failure showed up somewhere on the many electronic displays you are now required to have on your vehicle.

It looks great, but would look a kabillion times better without that chrome around the bottom-sides and back.

On a Yugo the CEL not illuminated probably indicates that the CEL itself is broken.
