That only works if you can prove that there is a valid threat. You can’t randomly have a restraining order placed on anyone one. She would have needed to file incident reports - with the police. Then take those police reports to the judge. Otherwise if she simply brought a letter, she would have had to proved that

She would have to file an incident report for harassment first, to prove that there is a history. She never did according to the article, she simple tried to go for the restraining order directly.

Not *that* expensive. It isn’t a complicated process. A couple thousand dollars maybe. Unafforable for many, but not all.

Lawyers are the ones that file restraining orders - police enforce them. She is doing the steps in the wrong order. She needs to contact a lawyer. Considering fighting games is all about combo sequences - that is ironic.
