Myles, you are cruel. I think I dread Ghost dying more than any remaining character. I want to put Brienne, Sam, and Ghost in a rowboat now. Also, you forgot Nymeria who I hope is going to growl “not today” to some folks at some point.

Yeah, it’s generally considered to be more helpful (and emotionally healthy) to have people focus on the things they can control, not the actions of others.

IMO character porn was the best facet of the so-called Golden Age of Television.

Am I the only one that’s weirded out by how much she smiles this season?

Bron and Jamie, I believe, sent him to a brothel in King’s Landing, where the women refused his money because he was so good.  About two or three season’s ago.  We were all much younger then.

I almost wish she had had another scene with Jon or Sansa instead.

Exactly, how are people forgetting about that. This is the guy who just had to try to explain to the NW that all the Wildlings weren’t really so bad.

She’s like a grown up Veruca Salt except with dragons

I never understood how people don’t see her as an ultimate villain. She has repeatedly shown that her true nature is power-hungry and wrathful, and it requires significant cajoling to make her occasionally control those instincts. Both she and Bran have had visions of the Red Keep with the roof burned off and snow on

I heard an interview with Weiss & Benioff where they said that they produced the first episode in such a whirlwind that it came in too short and they had to add material at the last minute. Since it already had a solid story arc that they couldn’t mess with, and they didn’t have money or time for anything too involved,

It felt organic to me, having been in a lot of situations where the next day will have life-and-death implications. After you have done your prep, what else are you supposed to do - sit there and sleeplessly worry? A lot of people deal with the stress through humor and other distractions. Conversations may seem

Honestly though, it’s not that the show became this. It’s also been this way. Rewatching season 1, this show has always been a lot of talking and character work with the odd bout of action or plot movement.

Jaime decides: a Knight can make a Knight

This episode reminds me of the great scene in Shakespeare ‘s Henry V on the eve of the St Crispins Day battle where Henry roves just out of sight from one campfire conversation to the next, listening in on his soldier’s fears and dreams. In this case, the audience is Henry the eaves dropper.

...And Cersei Lannister goes down in history as the savior of humanity, a paragon of virtue, humility, bravery, and strength.

These last two episodes, I think everyone would admit, the writers took the complaints of last season to heart. We've had two very good hours of interpersonal cast bonding. With everyone at Winterfell, it's like the pacing and heart has returned to the show.

To an extent, they SHOULD be forced and weird.

Tormund, Tyrion, Jamie, Pod, Brienne, and Davos all sitting in a room drinking wine shooting the shit. It’s like they wrote that scene just for me. And then they knighted Brienne!?!? Hit me right in the feels. I’m starting to tear up again just thinking about it.

The absolute gall to use two of the final 6 episodes to simply let our favorite characters chill at Winterfell — and to somehow turn out one of the show’s finest hours in the process. I was worried that the buildup to the Night Attack would crumble in the face of the attack itself. Now, the entire narrative is better

Never been a big fan of Dany, though I’ve rooted for her at times (mainly in the first season when it was her vs Viserys). Lately though I really, really dislike her. She’s just an entitled spoiled power-hungry brat, much like Joffrey but in a way even worse because at least with him no one was under the illusion that
