I think this is common in all YA literature. Bizarrely huge consequences are mixed in with teenage angst and treated as an afterthought. The chosen ones engage in casual banter and rivalries instead of collectively sh*tting themselves over the fact that only one of them will be alive in just a couple of days.

I guess

The final seasons get so much undeserved hate it’s ridiculous. It’s got so much great stuff: you’ve got Ross’s ‘I think we should be seeing other people’ as Charlie straight up makes out with her ex in front of him, you’ve got Ross wearing the same blouse as his date, you’ve got Joey learning French, you of course

Wow, there’s triggered and there is... TRIGGERED! And all from a one-minute clip. We don’t even know what it’s gonna be about? Will it be some prime biting satire on par with the golden years of South Park and the occasional flashes of brilliance like the World-Wide Privacy Tour, or will it be some tepid gunk, you

Jaime’s character arc is far more complicated than that. He is a cynical bastard who doesn’t value being a knight and his relationship with Cersei is marred by mutual contempt masquerading as lust (which is also why that scene where Jaime forces himself upon Cersei is very much necessary). Brienne teaches Jaime not

Couldn’t help but notice the conspicuous absence of the R-word song from the Top 30.

It’s a great album, but there is fat to trim off, whereas Nevermind and Bleach feel much tighter. A combination of the best songs from In Utero and Incesticide would’ve made for a cracking album and it would have very much worked tonally.

Tell that Hispanic truck driver who was fired for absentmindedly flicking his fingers in an obvious ‘white power’ gesture that only those who are famous can be victims of cancel culture.

Because those at risk of consequence are silenced into compliance.

They’re using it to claim the left is out deplatforming anyone who crosses them, when the reality is it just means celebrities might actually be held accountable for things they do and say.’

This is like saying: ‘They are using it to claim that I am out killing people when in reality I’m just massaging their insides

I disagree that the movie is ‘hard to read into’.

Even if you know nothing about the political situation in Serbia, Vukmir’s speech all but spells out the main themes of the movie. The fact that people from privileged countries pay to see movies of suffering from places stricken with tragedy in order to feel something

Dany never thinks that what she’s doing is “wrong”. She never sees herself as the villain. ‘

That is a fair point. However, on the other hand, D&D had to keep stifling Emilia because she kept wanting to add warmth to her character. This made for some pretty wooden acting in the earlier seasons, leading many to

I think the showrunners biggest mistake was not revealing to the actors from the start what their characters would be about because they were afraid of spoilers. I bet Emilia would have acted many scenes quite differently if she had known she would become evil in Season 8. Throughout much of season 8, at which point

Terrible and superficial take regarding ‘’The Messenger’’. It is not about ‘’injecting humor,’’ it is about examining deeply the conscience of a mind driven by religious fervor. Mila’s overacting gives a far less flattering, but far more realistic depiction of Joan’s inner turmoil. And Dustin Hoffman’s cameo as the

I have to say that the trailer won me over a bit. Something about the nonchalant delivery of ‘nothing to see here, just a small group of people defying the laws of gravity’ and Hugh Grant as an oompa-loompa makes me a cautious optimist.

Did plasmas or Bose-Einstein condensates make a special appearance? Gotta appeal to the coveted ‘physicist’ demographic!

The 3-Body Problem is exactly the kind of thematically rich masterpiece that D and D would be great at. The good thing is that it has little mainstream appeal, so not many bandwagoning fans who miss the point of the series are to be expected.

Very simple. D&D broke the one major rule of cinema and television:

Never REFUSE pandering to your audience. Anyone can forgive a weak attempt at pandering, but to refuse to pander is the most unforgivable sin.

The fans wanted a ‘fulfilling’ ending ‘that made sense’ and D&D brutally snatched it away from them by having

I think the HIMYM finale is absolutely amazing.
