The US Navy recruited from the Phillipines pretty heavily during the 60's, 70's, and 80's. So there are pretty significant Filipino populations in cities where there are Navy Bases. So you’ll find Filipinos in unlikely cities like Corpus Christi, TX; Pensacola, FL; and Groton, CT because there are Navy Bases there.
