As a casual Star Wars fan, the more I read about the Expanded Universe (I refuse to call it the “EU”, because there already is a real thing that uses the same abbreviation), the more I’m glad that Disney decided to ignore it. It would have certainly pleased the fanboys, but made the films insufferable for everyone…

I bet many of the same people complaining about this movie also wrote petitions on how TFA was too much like the previous movies and they should have done something very different.
