Agree with others: you’re holding “romance” in games to a higher standard than literally anything else it might simulate.

To be honest, I’d be a little grossed out if those types of relationships in games got much more involved? Games are for storytelling, real life is for relationships. It’s not really something I

You’re missing the point, and you’re trying to counter an argument of principle with an argument of scale.

Yes, but romance is the specific connotation of a human relationship that has context, depth, and nuance.

In the original ME trilogy, I really enjoyed the ups and downs of the various romances. Why? Because I don’t like being the bad guy. So, that meant that no matter if I was playing a soldier or an engineer, or whatever, I was always the paragon. It was a choice I got to make that made my experience with the story

You can be reductionist but yes, that is something that is enjoyable to a lot of people. You have even less control over romances in TV shows but people still ship people from them. Why does it bother you?

Considering that Mass Effect 3 ended like the most uncomfortable wet fart in the middle of a State Dinner, Dragon Age Inquisition was nothing more than a checklist event, and Andromeda was... well... not good; I don’t even care.

By that logic, pretty much every interaction in video games is a reductive and unconvincing simulacrum of a real-life interaction. I don’t know why romance should be called out as special in that regard, or why desiring an unconvincing simulation of romance would be any stranger than desiring the sort of unconvincing

I’m one of those weirdos who like romance in my western RPGs, so Obsidian and Larian have been a bit of a letdown in that regard for me.

Not really weird at all, considering they shut down any and all fan projects regardless of if it threatens their IP or not.  Nintendo is known for pulling what the industry calls “dick moves”.

Lmfao. Just because Reagan's presidency didn't negatively effect you doesn't change the fact that he's probably the worst, most disgraceful president we've ever had

This wasn’t a review, and the shit that Reagan did during his administration was abominable, and that’s just how he dealt with the AIDS crisis alone. Beyond that, his bass-ackwards economic polices, proven not to work and since been deemed a failure by the fucking architect of the policy are still somehow considered

Perhaps that’s what they were had have preferred to discover on their own.

Yeah, this is a very valuable news article about video games, technology and other important things

This warranted an entire article?

I mean... it doesn’t look that different from the original. Souls games have never had much UI flair tbh

Tell a Souls fan that the remaster is incredibly faithful in terms of gameplay...and of course they’ll find something to complain about.

Nearly 20% of black men (my demo) voted for Trump, and he had the highest share of the minority vote of any Republican presidential candidate in 60 years.

I mean...they did need to count like 150,000,000 ballots, which is more than double the entire population of the UK.

Thank god, but no thanks to you and some of the other writers here who repeatedly damned Biden with faint praise. Oh, and thank those of us who put aside our personal feelings when our candidate (Warren, in my case) lost in the primaries and enthusiastically got behind Biden.

You vasty underestimate the sophistication of bots.
