Why do so many people have such an aversion to the word “moist” while no one has a problem with “damp”?

The old Z didn’t have issues with the platform, it was everything on top of it. The chassis was solid, but in a world where Camrys make relatively stupid HP, its 330 HP it made was lacking. The interior was full of hard plastics, the tech was outdated, and why would you want to spend $35,000 on it when you could look

Personally, modern interior. Heck, if they just wanted to pump out the 370z or even the 350z body with the 3.7 V6, but put in this new interior, I’d be happy with that.

Platform whining carryover is just a way for insecure car geeks to try and look smart and discerning. Newsflash, literally every big automaker just started doing what Nissan did 20 years ago with FM. BMW has CLAR, Mercedes has MRx, VWAG has MxB, etc etc. If you think they’re gonna toss those platforms out any time

It is a rear wheel drive, 2 seater sportscar available brand new in the market with a manual gearbox.

We can’t wistfully recount old-school sports cars, lament their disappearance amid the onslaught of technology and then complain when successors arrive that are, in a few ways, slightly old”

Suse the accord looks nicer but that buick is going to be way more comfortable.

There are many more 90's Buicks rolling around today compared to 90's Honda’s. Some of the best made cars of the era that were marketed to a much older demographic explains the interior designs. The 3.8 V6 is one of the greatest most reliable engines ever made and a joy to work on for accessibility. I’ve driven low

The horizontal speedo dates this one from early in the 94 run.  It was toward the end of this model year that they made the switch to round speedos and the model didn’t go back to them, so this is one of the last.

And I’m a sucker for a column shifter.

Counterpoint — horizontal speedometers and wide split-bench seats are two things that should never have been pushed out of style by cookie-cutter cars like the Accord.

This car easily has another 50-75K miles left, parts are readily available and it can be serviced anywhere.  And for under two grand, even if you had to put $500 into it to bring it up to snuff, it’s still a NP.

It sure as hell isn’t exciting, but a lot of the time what you want isn’t exciting. What you want is durable, reliable, economical - things that help assure that your day doesn’t become exciting.

Anything less than $2000 for an unmolested used car in good running condition is an automatic Nice Price.

This exactly, At the the end of the day it is a Ford product.

I mean,... you’re kind of discounting the idea that they could conceivably avoid shipping products with major issues in the first place, which is something that several other manufacturers do regularly.

The customer doesn’t give a damn which supplier makes it.

Every launch, Ford.  Every stinking launch.

Ford is comically bad at introducing new models. It took me 16 months to get my Focus RS from order to delivery thanks to production issues. I can only imagine how long it will take them to unfuck this issue with 10x more cars in the ordering system. I want a Bronco but refuse to play the hurry up and wait game again.

Ford screwing up a product launch? Nah, don’t believe you.
