Who decides what’s propaganda? Who decides what’s truth? Is it written in some book somewhere? Do we just leave it to the “fact checkers” that have been hilariously wrong time and again? Ooh, maybe we set up some sort of ministry to decide what’s true and not?

The trouble is that all the screaming and hollering about how horrible it is doesn’t jive with the reality many people experience. Where I grew up, it’s common to not just drink, then drive, but to drink while driving. Hell, a Sunday afternoon with a travel mug full of margaritas and a nice drive is really rather

Eh, not as well as you’d think.  Mostly they make you paranoid.  If you’re that far in and still insisting on driving, the best way is still the classic “hand over one eye to stop seeing double” maneuver with the cruise set to 7 over the limit.

Freedom of the press is freedom of the press, period.  That right extends to all, not just those you agree with.

In the hinterlands of Michigan, the Ford dealer on the edge of my hometown, during normal times, has 50-75 vehicles on their lot. On the 4th of July weekend, they had 1. Literally one vehicle, a lonely low-spec Escape.

Last rental I had reeked of smoke to the point I was expecting to get hit with a smoking charge. My husband gets pretty nice discounts through Enterprise/National from his employer, so we sprung for the “premium” car to go to Zion National Park. We can quibble over whether an Infiniti Q50 is premium or not (what a

Hilariously, I grew up Lutheran, and we had a couch in that green color (not plaid, though) in the youth room, also with remarkably course fabric.

So these screen grabs are two frames one right after the other (, and . let you scroll frame by frame on YouTube) right as the car hits the ground. It’s easier to see if you have the video up and jog back and forth frame by frame, but it’s most noticeable in the middle of the car, especially around the A-pillar.

You can absolutely watch the whole car flex when it hits.  It’s a convertible.  There’s no way it gets out of that without being totaled.

1st:  I remain unconvinced by Aston Martin SUVs.  The AM dealer’s just down the street from my Jaguar dealer, so I’ve at least seen one parked outside for display.  Honestly, aside from the badge it doesn’t really look that special to me.  AM cars are basically sex symbols.  An AM SUV is just an SUV from what I’ve

4th: So what happens with all these vehicles sitting outside for months and months? I recognize that happens at the dealer’s lot as well, but I dunno, something about the notion of half-built vehicles sitting outside, requiring someone to come back to finish them doesn’t sit right with me. I’ve worked on too many

Manuals in these were rare? Huh, I should tell my buddy that had one in high school back in the late ‘90s. It was not an impressive vehicle except as the punchline to many jokes.

The new 400Z actually has me interested again. I actually very briefly considered the 370Z back in 2019 when I was car shopping, but for the kind of money they were asking for them it was way way wayyyy too much of a time warp. I mean, even the exterior of the 400Z is a bit dated-looking already, but the interior

You point out something key here: This study was basically the most favorable scenario, and 20% still nope’d out. California, early adopters, eco-friendly orientation.

My in-laws live 3 hours from us. If we go for a day trip for a family function, that’s at least one, possibly two stops for recharging the car, at 30 minutes each. That makes a 6 hour round trip into a 7 hour round trip, and that’s presuming the chargers are as easy to get as gas stations would be.

So I, in fact, have a 2017 Jaguar XE 35t R-Sport with AWD. This one is actually a doppelganger for my car, down to the black wheels. I bought it in 2019.

1st: I was “up North” in the hinterlands to visit family this weekend. There’s a new car dealer at the corner I turn at to head toward my mom’s house that normally has 50-75 cars on their lot. Yesterday, they had 11. I give them a ton of credit for trying, but they had them all spaced out like the automotive version

A couple years ago, I was DD’ing my ‘78 Continental, the hugest land yacht version that makes these ‘80s Town Cars seem small. Aside from the unslakable thirst of the 460, that car is actually a delight to DD. The mistake that purported good drivers make is thinking that you steer something like this. You don’t. You

These Town Cars would easily run past 200k, as would pretty much anything equipped with the 5.0. Also, Buick would like a word.

Not true.  I was a kid when this car was new, and I have very fond memories of these cars.  I also have a ‘78 Continental (presently in storage because of The North and winter).  It’s not all JDM or old muscle, you know.
