The first sentence in the highest noise one was weird. The second one I think I got.

This is from Toyota, but I’m sure it’s a similar thing all around: VSA stands for “Vehicle Service Agreement”, and it appears to be a warranty plan.

While I’ll argue that yes, it’s a pretty old tank by military standards and others have built up more modern tanks, the only thing the M1 has gone up against are ancient Cold War relics.

I don’t know what’s worse: that he doesn’t know how to ride but steals a bike anyway or that he’s a dad.

I feel like I’m going to step on a landmine but...

This is probably the only way you’ll ever get to eat sushi rice, as most sushi places don’t even serve rice like this. Little wonder the place I consider the best sushi restuarant serves sushi with rice prepared this way.

Found the local news story on it (if someone hadn’t posted it).

You have to think of waste in terms of things outside of just using what you cook. Mostly it’s time.

No D.Va logo yet? I’m surprised.

Plus there’s the problem that unless you plan on making everything from scratch, most meal prep stuff (I’m thinking like taco seasoning packets or sauce packets for stir fry) are for multiple servings anyway, and saving them is a bad idea unless you plan on using it again soon because it could be weeks by the time you

Cooking one meal for yourself I find more wasteful than just cooking several meals at once and eat the leftovers later.

Another example is that I used to avoid Cheetos like the plague (however, flaming hot

I think they mean “added sugar”.

I think it’s more like the government knows the average person only cares about a single number that they can easily relate to.

Yeah, this is mostly correct. Though I’m speaking from experience with aircraft. Engine RPM on a prop aircraft is more or less constant. You change the angle of the blades when you want “more” or “less” power. Keeping the engine at a constant RPM is mostly for power efficiency and it helps keep the engine system

I have a friend who’s into cars and respectably so (he wrenches on a mid 80s Ford pickup). But he has a dislike for California because of the emissions regulations and every time I point out LA, he just goes “lol”.

You have to look at car advancement through its entirety, not just MPG. MPG hasn’t really budged all that much since the Model T.

The US really needs to let go of its car culture. I mean, that’s not to say gearheads should be outcasts, but the everyman would probably care less about owning a car if another form of transportation was readily and cheaply available. That and if zoning wasn’t dumb.
