Because it was the late ‘90s and this happened?

Now playing

No Always Sunny yet? Kinjaverse, I am disappoint!

I hate to knock something this early, but it looks too much like everything else does right now. It is like the studio said “animation looks like this right now, so make sure you do that.”

I have a feeling that Black Panther’s historic success is going to be a double-edged sword for awhile, as future films have an unrealistic metric by which to be measured: $1.3 billion...

Also the dinos like the T-Rex in the first JP had weight to it. It’s didn’t speedrun when it first showed up. We got to take in the majestic beast.

Except ‘The Jedi of Old weren’t infallible’ is a completely idiotic reason to end them. Nor, can we say, that they can be blamed for many of the galaxy’s problems. Very clearly the Sith were to blame for many of the problems (and continued to be throughout the 20 years they effectively didn’t exist between Ep. III and

Exactly. He legit picks a fight with his nephew, embarrassing him in front of the first order, KNOWING that he will throw a rage tantrum, and then completely gives up on him.

I have to confess, 3 was vastly better than 2, and Josh Brolin did a thankless yet fantastic job portraying K (if you notice, he works in nuances and ticks that Jones had in the first movie; it’s really a better job than expected).

Y’know, I studied film and worked in the industry for 25 years and I can’t remember a film ever, and I mean EVER, necessitating and propagating so much elucidation and exoneration.

Just joking about sleeping through the movie btw....

Counter-argument - she should have just been cast as Storm all those years ago, instead of bloody Halle Berry who was so horribly miscast.

I just hope that the movie doesn’t suck like the last four have. I feel bad for Craig who could be a great Bond if they weren’t trying to Grimdark the fuck out of the Reboot movies.

Again, I think that dismisses people’s opinions and arguments about why they were unimpressed by this movie. Saying “it’s the cool thing to hate at the moment” implies that detractors are merely sheep that can’t formulate their own opinions about a movie and make their own determinations about it. I really wanted to

I don’t go into Star Wars movies with some little personally woven fantasy about what’s going to happen because I want to be surprised.

I think it’s a bit of both. At the end of the day I don’t really care about The Last Jedi anyway, so although I didn’t like the film, I don’t have anything against someone who did. People who care the most, one way or the other, are often the most vocal. All of the people who just thought it was fine/ok probably don’t

It was meaningless, and it was mechanically backwards.

Yeah that opening had no emotional impact (I could tell it was trying but not working) and really set the tone for an uneven film.

That scene was much more than just killing off a character...

The advertising for this feels super John Carter. I cannot imagine that more than like, 10 people who haven’t read the book will have any interest in seeing this movie, because the advertising is doing such a poor job of telling you what, if anything, it’s actually about.

This.
