BSG was the first show I watched with friends on a weekly basis. We loved it, and what fun to have a whole week of anticipation leading up to the next episode!

However, that thrill started to sour in Season 3, when it became increasingly clear that there was no plan and that the writers were spitballing. No mention of

Rogen as Centauri?!

We’re also setting aside the idea that Snoke has been Force whispering to Kylo for awhile without Luke having any sense of this?

Indeed.

To say nothing of him leaving a map to find him on Ach-To AND having all the Jedi texts around which he supposedly doesn’t want anymore.

His character was flawed from the start. Luke had grave doubts about the Force and spent all of TESB finding out how dangerous and deadly his choices would be given his new powers.

Indeed. If I ever met him, I would shake his hand and thank him profusely for trying to warn us.

Your take on Hamill and his character feels very cynical and borderline hateful.

He risked his life to save his father, who was much further along the path to the Dark Side. But he wouldn’t do the same for his nephew, who hadn’t yet murdered hundreds or thousands?

Thank you. Exactly.

My problem with this timeline is that Luke’s response to learning that the Jedi aren’t infallible and could be blamed for many of the galaxy’s responses was to run away and hide.

I’m going to keep posting this excerpt from another io9 contributor after every single relevant TLJ article, because I think it is the single best summation of my opinion regarding Rian’s choices and the whole direction of these new films.

Dear god, that was DEPRESSING.

I haven’t watched broadcast television for twenty years. No regrets.

I remember MIB2, and just cringing through the entire thing.

Boy, if I was still into Lego, this would have been the month where I ate only popcorn for dinner!

Absolutely agree.

That’s fine with me. Commenting here has mostly been a disappointment anyway. If you express a minority opinion, even in the most polite way, the eruption of REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE is often deafening.

Thanks!

Fortunately for me, you are not too moronic to leave alone.
