7 Pro already has macro focus so presumably the 8 Pro would keep it.  They mentioned it for the 8 because it would be a new feature outside the Pro models.

Pixel 7 Pro has Macro focus, so I am guessing that the current Pixel 7 does not, so it will be new for the Pixel 8. This would assume that Pixel 8 Pro would be similar to the 7 Pro and still have macro focus.
