Random encounters and turn based combat are an acquired taste. Old school RPG aficionados love it and it’s what makes many 90's JRPGs beloved classics. If you get bored or burned out, then it’s obviously not your cup of tea. Not the game’s fault. Go play something else that your attention span can tolerate.
