I’ll try my best to unpack this here. I’m a trans woman (there are a handful of us commenting here) and a mixed race POC (unless being black mixed with white with a caramel complexion doesn’t count as POC), so here’s me taking a stab!
I am a white cis woman. As such, I can’t address some of what you said, but I do want to touch on other aspects, what you mention as “unfair” treatment and so on. My response here is not meant to be confrontational or snarky.
That’s the catch-22 of being a trans woman. If you are femme, then feminists will claim that you’re reinforcing patriarchy and that all you really cared about was playing dress-up. If you are not femme, then society will claim that clearly you aren’t really a woman and plus you’re ugly and should kill yourself, or…
If there’s any need for evidence that feminism still has quite a ways to go to become truly intersectional, one should look no further than this comment section. TERFs abound, more interested in the oppression olympics than liberating one another.
