You are ignoring the fact that the wheels/tires/stickers give evidence to what kind of person likely owned the car and how it was treated, driven and maintained.  It has nothing to do with the model itself.  You’d just want to find an example that was likely better cared for.

So what you are all saying is that the modifications made to this Jag... make you see red?

The red “Jaguar” sticker in the window did it for me.  I wouldn’t drive a car previously owned by someone with such horrible taste.  The interior probably smells of a combination of orange dreamsicle air freshener and Brut cologne.

What a load of criminal-apologist bullshit, Erin. Based on your history, I’d say you deserve to be fired once again. What a joke.

What a shitty article. The rampant theft is bad, but much worse is the bullshit excuses for it.

But this strikes me more as desperate, wholesale looting than property crime, and we should expect to see more of it as we ignore the mass suffering caused by rampant income inequality.

Transient product distributors, obviously.

Imagine the mother lode of finding the REI car.  You’d be set for homeless life!

You may think people do crime because they have to, but more often than not it’s simply because they can so why not.

jesus i’m sick and tired of people justifying theft. argue all you want about mOdeRn AmEricA bEing uNfAIr!!!! and BiLliOnaIres gEttInG RicHeR!!!! but there’s a 99% chance this is done by professional, organized theft rings as opposed to some desperate unemployed person breaking into a goddam train car to feed his

These people are not stealing to survive. They are opportunists. The economy and CEO salaries are absolutely irrelevant.

“Yeah, it’s wrong, but justifiable since there are rich people out there.

Stop condoning criminal behavior. This is wrong. C’mon, Erin.

This is a dumb fucking take.

You see, Erin, the sort of anger you’ve sparked in your readership is exactly what the Times was trying to avoid when they let you go. This article could’ve had 2 sentences removed or reworded, it would’ve conveyed the same story, and no one would’ve been upset. You need to consider how much you’re writing your own

Right. It seems very immature. That’s all. Like this take she posted. I’d expect this from a ~16 year old in high school. Not an adult working in the real world.

I can’t find that, what happened?

I fail to understand your distinction between Wholesale Looting and Property Crime.  While not all property crime is looting, (vandalism, arson) all looting is property crime.

Your excusing criminal behavior so casually identifies you as a seriously dysfunctional person. As you mentioned in passing, some of those packages contained life-critical medication.

Holy shit that is an awful take. Like absolute trash-tier.

C’mon Erin, this is a crap take.  Excusing stealing is not a good look.
