I pretty much stopped playing half way through because of how tedious i found the game to be, i don’t really get all this love.

That is how my mind canon works. I loved GZ. The audio tapes on the helicopter, the dread of the mission to clean up the mess from the previous one, seeing what happened to those two, just knowing everything is going wrong back at base. Ugh, so good.
