SWAT was brought there to deal with a known drug house, filled with known armed criminals, and surprise! the armed criminals shot at them, and surprise! the cops shot back. Come on man its not that complicated.

They where returning fire at a target that was shooting at them from a window.

What is wrong with you? This is pretty straight forward. They where running a warrant on known criminals, who are probably armed and dangerous (surprise! they were right) at known drug house. So they went in with SWAT and not standard Officer Joe because confrontation was high, surprise! They once again were right.

Clearly, you don’t give a damn about whether or not the cops do a modicum of recon.

And yes the cops are expected to ask if there are innocent people in a house who could be used as a human shield.

Then what do you recommend? The cops just pack it up and go home? Use their magical x-ray vision to make sure no other people are there? Get real.

1) It was a known drug house, with known criminals, with known weapons, with a warrant. Of course SWAT was called, I don’t how you vision Mr. Plains Uniformed Officer knocking on that door.

Its a search warrant, as in they have approval from a Judge to search that house, by force if necessary. Its not a search request, or a “hey do you mind?” so unwillingness is canceled out by the warrant.

I don’t remember it stating the Police actually saw her and proceeded to keep shooting. I would think it would have been framed as a hostage situation if they knew she was there, and that he was using her in such a way. 

Let me get this straight, the asshole used his pregnant girlfriend as a human shield...Because the use of a human shield does not absolve you from ignoring said person and shooting anyway.
