Except lots of people have done a great job of it time and time again. It’s not the song’s fault. It’s hers.

If duels were legal I would challenge you to a duel for invoking Cyndi Lauper’s name as having anything to do with this performance

She deserves all she gets from this. She skipped lines, mangled the melody, made bad choices and doubled down on them. It was as fractured and insane as this country right now. It was terrible, yet feels perfectly appropriate. This should be the way it is sung for all time.

She sounded like Cyndi Lauper getting strangled, but it was far from the worst. I still remember Christina Aguilera at the Super Bowl a few years back forgetting the lyrics and slurring her words like she was drunk. That was a moment where her diva-ness collapsed in on itself like a neutron star.

Trump seems like he would initially pretend to be remorseful that Biden was killed, but would start insulting him again the same day.

Biden’s “bullseye” remark was clearly a metaphor, one tailor-made for a country that has more guns than people. Trump, meanwhile, has talked repeatedly about having his political rivals executed for treason. This includes, it’s important to note, sham military tribunals for Congresspeople/civilians, such as Liz

If somebody killed Biden, Trump’s comments would be on the lines of “see, that’s what you get!”

Even President Joe Biden had to apologize for his metaphorical remark that it was ‘time to put Trump in a bullseye’”

The charges were motivated by the gleeful hope of getting famous because of a celebrity’s involvement in a violent death.

IFIFY.

No, it means that it cannot be refiled. I hope my sharing of knowledge helped.

If I bring my car to my mechanic to get my brakes fixed and then I immediately run someone over because my brakes decidedly don’t work when I’m pulling out of the lot, am I supposed to stand trial for not checking over the work of the person I paid because they had the experience and qualifications for that thing?

That's cute if you think that.

I will remember your invaluable legal advice next time I shoot a gun at a condom.

On the set of a movie, it is the armorer’s responsibility to ensure the weapons are safe to use for filming, and that no live ammo is loaded. The actors explicitly trust the armorer with their safety. He “could have” but isn’t expected to. The responsibility to ensure that no live ammo is used falls to the armorer.

He had no reason to believe the gun wouldn’t fire. It wasn’t supposed to be loaded with live ammunition, period. The responsibility for ensuring there was no live ammo on set and in the device designed as a lethal weapon that was in perfect mechanical condition fell to the AD and the armorer, not Baldwin. SAG-AFTRA

Per NBC in November of 2023:

Not a fan of Baldwin (the man, that is; plenty of good performances) but...good. The suggestion that he was responsible for not doing someone else’s job was ludicrous from the beginning.

Yeah, it almost felt vindictive and personal. I didn’t think his actions rose to the level of criminality though I can see him being held accountable civilly.

As others have noted, Nicholson portrays Jack as already 90% of the way to murderous psycho rather than a decent man who is increasingly manipulated by the spirits of the Overlook.  There’s no arc to his character.

Shelley herself said the Kubrick thing was overblown and that she mostly enjoyed the experience of working with him. It was a tough shoot with some shitty moments but greatly exaggerated in its retellings.
