You don’t have to try again, but when starting DS1 you aren’t supposed to go to the skeleton area until much later. The “1st area” to go is up the stairs towards the bridge from the bonfire, and everything is significantly easier than the skeletons. I think the main differences from the main Dark Souls games are the open world and the horse, but I mean its still likely going to be very much a souls game.

I always thought the Dark Souls games were similar to Zelda, so Elden Ring being similar makes sense to me. They have some major differences though.

All big PS5 AAA games are not coming out on last gen, a lot of them are though. Demons Souls, Returnal and Rachet and Clank are some examples off the top of my head.
