I broadly agree with this. The Who and the mystery of it didn’t really matter.
It takes him a bit longer to realise ‘Hey, maybe I should try to stop the guy behind the killings, rather than just save the victims!’

If it’s reusing / updating the displays from Kyoto Worlds, some of them are proxies...

They also put out The Edge of Tomorrow, which is based on a Light Novel (close enough to anime / manga).
Mushi-shi came back after ~ a decade! Not going to happen for Baccano! Though...
Most things eventually come together, but a bunch more characters keep on getting introduced, more or less right up until the end.
The first part is a bit of a mess (production and otherwise), but it gets better by the end. Don’t think it ever really has a scene that beats out the original Dollars reveal though.
