Try meditation. It helps.
Honestly, I think that EVERY parent should have a talk about firearm safety, whether they own guns or not. With guns being so prevalent, you never know when your child may come into contact with one. I have quite a few guns at my house and a child, and I teach my son gun safety all the time, even with his toy nerf…
To the other people commenting; it’s good advice either way, and could maybe have prevented this depending on how the friend of a friend acquired the gun (which we don’t know currently).
You didn’t read the article. It was not the family’s gun.
Gee, that sure is funny.
Based on having claimed both Florida and Alaska, I gather he is a member of his dad’s second family and one of his parents was trying to avoid a bench warrant.
Wow the biggest scandal here is HamNo trying to erase his ties to Florida.
Why doesn’t the NBA mind the player-for-a-day thing when it comes to Derrick Rose?
Not just you. His being allowed to practice even just one day a week reminds me of the medical version of “the thin blue line” (the thin white line?). His sheer medical incompetence and inability to improve much at all in that regard was outlined over and over and over again in the .pdf I read about his legal issues,…
It might be good or mediocre, but it’s what some people wanted.
Since his past convictions are for running pill mills, it seems like a benefit that he didn’t get to see his patients the following day.
Only thing wrong with me is throwing far too-subtle shade for you burners to catch.
So they can perpetually operate at a loss like Amtrak? Thus being subsidized even further by tax payers? Most of the Amtrak routes that lose money don’t serve a unique public good. They are glory projects for local legislators. The people could be equally or better served with a bus.
I can’t remember which airline it was - I’m leaning towards it being American, as they were who usually did the first leg of my journey - but I was bumped off a flight to JFK from DC due to overbooking two days before Christmas several years back. Obviously at that time of year, everyone is desparate to get home on…
I can think of a million reasons that someone can’t be bumped off a flight to a later flight, but the truth is, literally everyone can. Do you know how I know? If the flight was cancelled or delayed due to weather, these people would sit back and accept their bad luck.
That would have been worse. If I had been selected after, I would have been outraged, “Who says the life I need to get back to is less important than his?! Just because he’s a doctor and has more money/prestige? Bullshit” Things happen, things get rescheduled, even for doctors.
Meh, seems pricey, but the truth is we have munitions stockpiled since the 70's. It costs more to maintain and baby sit this those things then it is to fire ‘em!
I fly regularly for work, and whenever I’ve been bumped (voluntarily), it’s into the next flight. I’m more than happy to take a 3 hour delay for a free flight at a later date.
I don’t know about this. I feel like volunteering for a $400 voucher is better than sitting back and waiting for a 1% chance to get $1,200.
