If they would just tell us what the fuck "Other" means, part of it appears to be messages and media within messages...I don't know how that classifies as "Other", as if it's just random cache files or something.

I was just thinking why aren't they starting at 32GB after the new iPad announcement. They aren't even selling a 32GB model anymore, but still starting at 16GB.

If there were some type of way to easily delete "Other" this woudn't be such and issue.

Amazing! Now Apple since you already thought this through, how about starting your storage capacity for the new iPhones at 32Gb instead of 16GB? Whats that? Profit margins you say? Well make up your f minds. Do you want to provide a good user experience or not? Having a shit ton of people stuck on legacy software

It wouldn't matter so much if I could install another microsd card.

Let me get this right. You couldn't find many places to use it, so you were limited to two locations. One it worked flawlessly and the other did not work at all because it was not set up. Your assessment?

I fully understand and I'm not advocating we give them an entry equivelant to that of a house. My point is that the examples given aren't analogous because in the other examples a back-door method does exist whereas here it does not (as I believe it should not).

I was seriously considering going with a MacBook Pro to replace my current Windows based laptop until I read that they couldn't be upgraded. Bad part about it is there's no technical reason why they did this (I've seen internal pictures, and the memory could be easily accessed, but they just had the chips soldered to

Saw this over the weekend; as a previous Mac mini (2010) owner who was waiting out for the new models to come out, I can say I'm not buying the 2014 one - refurbs and overstock 2012 quad-cores are a better deal after all.

I find it extremely ironic that the company that created such a stir with the 1984 ad, seems to have a very Orwellian way of controlling their users.

I 100% agree that we should be able to encrypt our data and that the FBI or anyone else in law enforcement should not have access. I really do. I believe we have far too easily eroded our privacy rights and it needs go stop.

And anyone is surprised because? I thought it was normal operating procedure that if you want to upgrade anything made by Apple, you throw it away and buy a newer one.

...not only that, the new model is also a Dual Core compared to the Quad Core 2012 model, so it's actually been downgraded. Probably to push sales of the new iMac and the MacPro. People are furious and they have every right to be.

what really bother's me about this is that neither mavericks nor Yosemite run well on 4 GB of ram, sure its got that fancy memory compression thing going on, but unless you've got a quadcore i5 or i7 it really chugs. 8Gb makes a huge difference on older systems with these new OSX

Of course not. How else are they going to sell you new stuff. When are people going to realise that after each couple of years, whatever it is you bought from Apple is going to start slowing, not working with the new fangled tech etc. etc.

It's clear from your original post and now this one that you've never even used a WP. Nothing to see here folks, just some Troll peeing their pants.

You are a complete Tool.

I just switched to WP from 6 years using an Iphone. Wouldnt go back. I feel I get a good product at a better price, and I just enjoy the OS far more than apple. Sure, there are a few things I miss, but in general I am VERY happy I switched.

HAHAHAHA that is an original and very funny joke you just made!

They were actually one of the earliest having had smart watch out many year's ago
