As a Latino myself (born and raised), I can assure you that Afro-Latinos (my family members included) self-identify as Latinos not as black. Not to mention that vast majority of Latinos are not black.

Am Latino, never really even considered an HBCU when I was went to college. Just found it to be a strange association. Perhaps HBCUs also target Latinos as well and I just didn’t realize it.
