Even worse, they had chipped keys until 2016, when they decided to save money by removing the immobilizer chips from the vehicles without push-button start.
It’s sad, because I was really looking forward to the Ioniq 6 as a next car. And certainly it wouldn’t be subject to this exact vulnerability.
But if Hyundai can’t be bothered to get off of their asses to keep their customers’ cars from being stolen, it’s hard to believe for even half a second that they wouldn’t be…
I, unfortunately, recently paid a visit to my city’s police impound lot [someone complained about my currently registered B5 Avant parked on the street, and got it towed…I don’t want to talk about it], and 3 out of the 5 people in line were there to take a look at their stolen car. There is a separate area for…
The EV space doesn’t feel quite ready for prime time. Most of the vehicles are quite expensive and the charging infrastructure just doesn’t seem up to the task. On top of that, I’m not convinced that driving around heavy batteries is doing much for the environment. The electricity is generated and transmitted. The…
The automatic was quite slow too. These have all the driving excitement of a Tacoma. So none, unless you’re off-roading with it. There seems to be a niche that love them for that purpose though, since they are still Toyota reliable and I’ve read mostly good things about their overlanding ability.

I’m guessing they’ll be about as obtainable for a decent price as the RAV4 Prime, so good luck.
If you don’t consider the cost of years of therapy for having that much ugly crammed in your garage, you might get a good deal.
There is no unfortunate turn of events. The transport truck driver is obviously driving an oversized load without the necessary precautions in place to ensure public safety.
I feel like if you are moving something like that you need to coordinate with the railroad if a crossing is unavoidable.
if the truck driver was really just sitting there waiting for a green light doesn’t make him at fault? You have to be sure you can cross your entire vehicle before attempting to cross any kind of intersection right?
A stainless steel version is also available if you scroll a bit further in the accessories.
Oh great another argument for ‘don’t wanna wear a seatbelt, I want to be thown clear of the accident’ crowd
I’d comfortably say that ejecting from one of these is accompanied by a auto-shutdown that overrides every other system on the plane, including the one that might not be letting him throttle down.
At least he had the common sense to wait until he was back in the US, or he could have VinDisappeared.
