The American consumer isn’t burdened by taxes. They are burdened by gas prices.

We don’t need a gas tax holiday. That tax money goes to useful things, the lost revenue will just be gotten somewhere else or we’ll just pay more in interest on the debt, and at this price nobody will notice an 18.3 cent reduction.

I think they will build it, solely because Elon’s ego simply won’t be able to cope with killing a product that he has hyped to the moon. It really does show that Musk was absolutely critical to Tesla’s early success, since his pigheadedness and willingness to disregard practical realities was actually what was needed…

People playing chicken with a train is not a tragedy, it’s people paying the price for stupidity. This might be the dumbest of the oh so many dumb takes here.

Same thing happened to me when I totalled my car at a busy intersection. People came from every direction, from inside businesses. I was pretty OK, but it’s something I wont forget. Most people are really good people when they aren’t being driven to hate by outside forces.

Well, none of them are sitting at a computer, or watching the news. Many Americans of all shapes, sizes and colors are pretty damn good people when they aren’t being incited by the hate and fear machines.

A lot of contractors and tradesmen have abandoned trucks entirely for Euro style vans because modern trucks suck so much.
