On the one hand, if you can find me a sword and shield like Link has for $250 a piece (not props mind you, but actual sword and shield with that kind of intricate work), I’ll buy them right now.

So, google is going to let a bunch of children (because let’s be honest, most of them will be) moderate the world’s largest repository of videos. Wonderful

The reporters did not take the same oaths as Snowden, and the contractual and legal obligations do not apply to each party evenly. I am not saying that WaPo did the right thing in their reporting on PRISM, but that is not relevant to the editorial board taking the position that Snowden not be pardoned.

The WaPo editorial board is about as petty and hypocritical as it gets, but the issue that this post points out doesn’t really qualify.

Seems like towards the end of the video, where matches are being packed in boxes, some loose matches are being pushed around in a way that could rub against the striker on the box. Seems like disaster waiting to happen, but in any case I don’t see any workers around

Of course this is in netflix’s interest. However, I also wonder how the FCC’s recent proposals for requiring apps for cable companies programming impacted Netflix’s outlook. It seems like the only way to make those internet streaming apps work is for them to be excluded from the caps. It hard to imagine the apps being

I saw a new Samsung statement yesterday that they will be issuing loaner phones.

Seems like the most viable solution right now is to start issuing voachers and assurances that replacements for those that choose them will be a top priority, with all stock being moved to that until fulfilled. This way they can get these devices out of people’s homes and pockets and back to retailers. I suppose the

I’m a bit surprised that Samsung themselves haven’t put out more serious language along the lines of the CPSC statement. Basically “stop using these phone immediately. Power off and do not charge.” Anything less than this, and if someone is seriously injured or dies, they will (rightly) be held responsible.

My understanding is that CPSC hasn’t approved the fix (i.e. whether the replacements fix the problem). While it would be hard to imagine that Samsung is not sure the problem is not present in the replacements, it would seem foolish to start shipping before approval

Because it has a huge effect on the negotiations and payment between the cable companies and contract providers, for one.

This isn’t going to be a big change compared to what is already being offered by a lot of cable companies.

Actually, no on all. Size IS a change. You don’t think size matters? Go back to a 3.5" display and make the battery the size of a dime. The display is also very, very different. It’s a high resolution, force sensitive display.

Again, that’s the point. Everything else is shrinking and changing, but the 3.5mm jack does not.

“But, it fit just fine on the last iphone of the same dimensions, and every other phone on the planet.”

$40-$60? I’ve repaired some screens for friends and family, and the 3D Touch screens were way above that as of a couple if months ago.

Mirrors don’t “fail to reflect?” Um, yes they do...in the absence of visible light. Since cameras can use infrared and radar creates its own, that’s not a problem.

Purely a size constraint? One of the primary challenges of technological advancement is overcoming just that.

I got the powerbeats2 as a free promotion, and they are decent. However, they still are wired from ear to ear (like almost all Bluetooth headphones on the market currently), which is a pretty big difference technologically. The battery is in one ear piece, the transmitters in the other. That said, I find the cable

The failure rate of side view mirrors is pretty great actually. Body shops replace them regularly, as people tend to not include them in special awareness.
