Juneteenth is a welcome counterpoint to Jefferson Davis Day and all the other Confederate bullshit still polluting this country. I would love to see it become more widespread.

I know women of colour are rarely acknowledged in struggles for more general things as ‘championing for democracy’, but I think Harriet Tubman couldn’t be more appropriate. Acknowledging people of colour’s humanity is essential to democracy.

Sojourner Truth seems like a good choice to me. Let’s be honest the only people less represented on american currency than women are african-americans. Why not go the distance on this one?

Maybe you mean something other than “racist”? Maybe you mean “prejudiced,” since an immigrant can be any ethnicity? (ie: What if the immigrant was a Caucasian from France? Plenty of people think the French stink, and that’s ok as long as we’re talkin’ about the white ones.)
