I've used a Fire.... I don't really know where you're going with that question. Your point about "well known 7 inch tablets" is as true as the point that there were tablets before the iPad, and just as irrelevant. And the point of an 8" tablet is not to be "impressive". Put a Kindle Fire next to an iPad and the size

I've owned an iPad and an iPad 2. The changes to the iOS are minimal.

Fragmentation? Keep the resolution to 1024x768, there is none. Apps run exactly the same with no scaling necessary. Bonus, they can go on about the increased pixel density, a la the iPhone and probably iPad 3.

......and? Whether that's true or not the point is the same, just in reverse

You're wrong. See: Kindle Fire. The rest of your comment was just irrelevant as far as I can tell.

I can't tell, it's hard for me to see past that vomit-inducing home screen

"it's too small"? Are you kidding me? Apple took the interface from their 3.5" phone, blew it up to a 9.7" screen with practically no changes at all, and then you think that putting the same interface on a 7-8" device won't work because it's too small? What are you smoking?

I would love an 8" iPad. The 9.7" screen is bigger than I prefer, and after playing around with a Kindle Fire I'm really tempted to get one because of the screen size. Make it 7.5-8" wide, with the same 1024x768 resolution as the original, and sell it for <$350 and I'd be hard pressed to resist

I'm not talking about different sizes. I'm talking about making something that sells well, which they haven't done yet. Obviously not everyone prefers a 10" tablet (myself included) which is one of a few reasons the Kindle Fire is selling so well. Samsung is just spamming the tablet market at this point, hoping that

Yeah.... like NASA didn't already do that

Why? Because Samsung is just going to keep throwing Android tablets at the wall until something finally sticks

Short answer? No.

Did you read the article? Or did you come just to post your conspiratorial bullshit

Per the post, erasing his footage is already a federal offense. No case law precedents will be set here, it's just a well documented example of the police bullying someone who's not doing anything illegal

Non-humans /= whales, especially non-biological non-humans

Oh shit that sucks, I really liked the first season

Was it cancelled from HBO or something? I thought they were currently in the middle of the second season....

Your question is irrelevant. The data is for 2011 alone, not aggregated sales of each over years.

So your reasoning is that people drop and break SO MANY phones, worldwide, that they have to buy new ones constantly, and now that's why there are more smartphones sold than laptops?

Put this on the post on Jezebel, I'd love to see their righteous indignation spew forth
