This is astoundingly stupid. I mean, I'm in shock at how fucking idiotic this idea is, let alone that it's actually been implemented

@ircmaster: it supports touch, which is totally different from having a UI designed around touch like Android or iOS. There's a reason touchscreen PCs like HP makes (can't remember the name right now) have their own UI elements to handle things like navigating around and playing media. I've used a straight touchscreen

I like it, from that one shot. I loved the aluminum body of my MacBook pro but I just wasn't an OS X fan, also my current laptop is a Samsung and it's been pretty good to me. If it's a good deal cheaper than the Envy I'd be moderately interested in getting one in a couple months

@Nabaraj: Android is designed for a touchscreen and Windows 7 is basically hacked for touch. It's a pretty terrible experience using it

@jguidera: Youre right, I totally forgot about their world phones

@notverycreative: What do you mean, how does what work? For laptops they just have a card with a CDMA radio in it if that's what you're talking about

Verizon doesn't have SIMs. Anyway 25MB a month is pathetic. That would last me about 5 days just using email

It doesn't really matter anyway, you've always been able to do it without any sort of software

@monroe.josh: That's the way press shots are done. Apple did the same thing in their iPad shots, except they forgot their product doesn't like Flash and photoshopped websites with Flash into the picture

@Egypt1337: It shouldn't matter. Just don't update when 4.1 comes out next week

@JTen: That's the only way it could really work, and it would be pretty awesome. Maybe the next generation will support BT

@Robb Nunya: The classic plays Apple Lossless and AIFF

This just seems like a terrible waste of space compared to a skyscraper. I mean, someone correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like it's much smarter to build straight up and keep a buildings footprint as small as possible to utilize land more efficiently

I guess when the inevitable wrist strap case comes out you can have the clock app open and use it as a watch. That's pretty much the only plus with this design, if you've been looking for a multitouch watch

@Sexandpolitics: Hopefully there will be a jailbreak before then, I was under the impression they were holding off on releasing it because there might be a new software version this week. Since it's at least 2 whole months away now, maybe as long as 12 weeks, there might be hope that one will come sooner

I was hoping for just one last storage bump to 250GB or so, so I could put my whole library onto one. As it is I'll just buy a refurbed 160GB to leave plugged into my system in the car. It's better than always plugging in and unplugging my iPhone.

@shammah: Yeah it's shocking that the biggest rumors about this thing were true, the price was one rumor I never really bought at all

This is actually a pretty intriguing option now. I'm currently running a nettop with XBMC Live on it and as far as I can tell the only real advantage I have right now is playing from local storage of my library, but Netflix + streaming content from my computer gives that a run for its money
