Sorry but that's not a real world drop test. Nobody drops their phone from chest height and just watches it plummet to the ground without doing a thing to stop it. This is more like an unscientific stress test.

@Michael Kulmatycski: That's interesting, I don't have an answer though. Anyone?
@Justin B: I'm really not sure, I'm not really technical when it comes to jailbreaking, which is why I used Spirit in the first place. I just know the dev-team blog basically explicitly says that I wouldn't be able to jailbreak with this.
The best part about the new design is probably that it'll no longer be a huge pain in the ass to design and apply the clear films that cover the entire phone. Aligning one onto the curved back of a 3GS and around the sides is pretty frustrating
@nach0: I can't downgrade to 3.1.2 because I didn't jailbreak until 3.1.3 and I don't have an SSH blob for 3.1.2 backed up on Sauriks servers
@jusjrad: Read the post the story links to, it tells you what you can and can't use this on. And the answer to your question is no
Yeah I'd love to be forced to brush my teeth clutching the toothbrush like a toddler. It's a brilliant concept!
Bummer, I used Spirit to jailbreak my 3GS so this won't work for me
@cmsmith1806: This gets approved for the sheer balls you have actually using the term "Retina Display"
@zach.marks: It's too bright, like every fucking LED flash ever slapped onto a cell phone
I was mostly on board until I saw Cameron Diaz
@blu_goku: That's probably because both the phones in the tests are the 3G, not the 3GS
I need one of these for my 360
After switching from a jailbroken 3.1.3 3GS to running 4.0 I'll be going back to being jailbroken. Nothing that this OS does is better than the options the jailbreak community offers, and it's far less capable overall as well. Also, iBooks is painfully, unbelievably laggy on a 3GS. That's a pretty big problem when it…
I'm not a 3D fan but I do fucking hate motion gaming so that's what I voted for. At least for games 3D will probably be good quality and the glasses aren't that big of a deal since most people are usually gaming alone.
@thedarkerside.to: Because that is not the claim the law makes. The claim the law makes is that the murder of innocent people is wrong, and that in some cases the best way to punish that wrong is to end the life of the murderer. The argument says "killing is bad so we should never kill". That argument ignores the…
@thedarkerside.to: that argument suffers from a severe case of reductio ad absurdum
Now imagine how much more expensive your next phone will be!
I hadn't heard anything about this. That being said, my first instinct is that they'll grant the exemption, if only because Apple has been perceived of late as being overly controlling of the iPhone app platform in general and making it not illegal to jailbreak would loosen that perception of their control somewhat.
What is this thing you call choice?
