Why would you bring a 27 inch TV, in a heavy briefcase, to an outdoor picnic? You do that to get away from it all and relax.

That is so useless, really. If those become an actual product ( hopefully they won’t but they already surpassed their kickstarted goal) it will take someone probably 5 minutes to hack the software/app and make the photos available right away to anyone who wants them. In fact, it will probably be as easy as changing…
I’ve often wondered “is there some way I can wind back the benefits of 30 years of technology and use an inferior product without getting any actual benefits?”
Supposedly the reason the twin rovers Oppy and Spirit, were able to operate so long is that dustdevils would once in a while blow off the solar panels, so it does work to an extent. Honestly, their longevity was pretty good and far exceeded expectations, even with no way to clear the solar panels.
Apparently the Chinese lander included a blower to clear off the panels, but it still succumbed eventually. So the problem remains vexing.
It has always been a cost/benefit analysis with regards to weight and mission objectives. NASA has of course contemplated any number of self-cleaning methods (it’s freaking NASA, after all), but passed on them in favor of just enlarging the solar panel. The notion was that even with static clinging dust, the larger…
something something static electricity is the problem making the dust stick to things but yeah, you’d think using the propwash would have to at least help. Why none of these rovers seem to have a decent way to clear their panels I do not know, considering it seems to be what always kills them. Where’s the wee…
Ingenuity first flew in April, 2021, not 2019.
This thing was only designed to last 30 days so getting 700+ out of it is pretty decent, and it was always known that it would get left behind eventually. Too bad they couldn’t design it with the solar panels below the propellers so the propwash would blow them off.
If the gauges are not right in front me, it’s a stupid design. In fact HUDs should have been standard decades ago.
Volvo is definitely smoking some very special Swedish weed if they think teens and 20-somethings are looking to spend nearly $1000/mo on a new car. You know that’s what this will run with payment, insurance, etc.
Unpopular - I use the physical buttons on my steering wheel for volume, fast forward and rewind when I’m listening to music or a podcast, and to launch Google to call someone for my via voice command. I think I’d be okay with no physical buttons for the infotainment as long as the buttons remain on the steering wheel.
Lawl teens and 20 somethings. Someone call Toyota and find out how that went for their Scion sub-brand. That was with sub $20k cars and 2.5% interest rates.
Why they didn’t go full Swedish with a Marten soundbar and a free Spotify subscription is beyond me.
The only thing I will give them credit for is continuing to put the center screen in the correct orientation. Everything else about that interior makes me believe they can fuck all the way off.
Its not great , and its a soulless cash grab , but its not 13000 1 star reviews bad.
Well review bombing or legit bad reviews? It isn’t all that great. It put it on the low end of the scale on these live action Disney remakes. If were to rate it I’d give it 5 out 10. Its far too long - the kids were restless and got bored by the end. Its all dark - also not great for kids movies. And it sort feels…
The Republicans are losing their minds over anything and everything Disney-related these days because Disney has officially been deemed by them as being “too woke” now and “grooming” children (whatever that means). This movie checks all the Republican-rage checkmarks, especially since Ariel is played by a black person.
There’s no way this movie is good enough to rate a 95%, either. So who’s looking into the verified audience and how they rate?
I have never watched any of these soulless live action remakes by Disney, nor I intend to — so I refrain from giving it a score, good or bad, just like I have not given a score to any of the other live action remakes — but something about Halle’s facial structure triggers my uncanny alley; I think it could be that her…
