If it’s anything like interacting with Amazon on any sort of non-customer level, the drivers are almost certainly in the dark on a lot of the information they need - by design. Obfuscating everything but the absolute bare minimum to function is how Amazon deals with it’s “partners”, vendors, and employees. It’s a

There is also the issue of buying before or after the “midlife crisis” point. I would rather buy a car with 170K that has had all of those common midlife issues addressed, than one with 110K that is going to need everything in short order, all else being equal.

Yeah but 20 year old safety systems?  Yeah no thanks for anything but a collector car that you almost never drive.

I daily drive a 2001 e46 with 175k. Its a 325i with a stick. I looked at a 2009 328i with way less miles and the e46 was in so much better shape it was ridiculous.

At a certain point age and mileage become separate items when it comes to condition. There is mileage which is wear and tear (easy miles and hard miles both exist) and there is age which is deterioration. You can have a high mile car with no real issue, such as those high mile delivery cars that do 1,000,000 miles in

I had that maroon Matchbox Sterling too. I think that’s the reason I even know what a Sterling even is 35 years after the fact

Sensonic was never offered in the US. There is at least one Sensonic car here though - a Saab master tech imported the parts and built himself one.

And in 1984, 150 hp is definitely no joke

An ‘84 Vette clocks in at around 200HP, according to a quick Google search!

This is the correct take. I saw that and said “Self, this is a Good Fellow here!”.

correct take, well laid out post - props wuzilla.  NP

This doesn’t seem like a bad project at all.  Since the engine is out, give it a refresh and maybe a couple of mods, then slap that baby back in with a fresh clutch.

This should be the highest comment!
No transmission ever left this car =D

I guess my question is if I thought it were just a standard Getrag 6MT, and I got in and drove it, would I be disappointed? Would I even notice the difference?

You don’t have to change it every 4 months.

There is only one correct interior for these cars:

my sister in law’s husband plays the BaT market/game. he was good enough to at least break even, but for a while there they were both going through ‘new’ cars every few weeks.

Don’t forget the Detroit World Series riots in 1984.
