Sort of shocked by the price. Anything else from this era with similar specs (stock) is going to be pushing, if not over, 6 figures. Don’t feel like researching the market, but is this a scam?

I guess I’m a little shocked that these don’t have more of a following. Growing up in the 90's, these, along with the Cyclone and Typhoon were always on the cover of car magazines. Domestic vs Import! Yet where those trucks can fetch 6 figures on BaT, nobody really wants these (and yes, let’s compare the

One of the reasons for date rules in this game is to find a way to site-certify things. Let’s take helmets, for example (because thats something that everyone get’s super wound up about). It’s impossible to visually inspect a helmet and determine if it’s still safe. It could have been dropped from a garage shelf;

Nice work! But a few things noteworthy here that I immediately saw from a quick read:

FCP Euro got their starts in MB’s, so my guess is that they still have a good selection. They’re my starting point for anything for my BMW (and soon, my wife’s Volvo since it just came off warranty). My co-workers also use them for Porsche fun.

Oh nice, didn’t know you were in Rochester too. Hopefully will see you at the track later this year if I ever get my crap together.

OG Racing - it’s outside DC (Northern VA), but that’s probably closer to you then most of the NE (I live in Rochester NY and its a 5-hour drive - I think it’s 2-3 from NYC?). I hate doing shameless plugs, but we pretty much are where most of the track stuff comes from on the east coast. And even our non-Miata staff

Having been in the market for a reasonably priced Miata in the Northeast for the past few months (year?), I saw that car in the past week or so. Great find! I want something that leans a bit more street, so passed on it, but getting a track ready car always makes far more financial sense then trying to build one.

Smart of you to leave off the Miata. You’d loose whatever readership is still around faster then one of those hits 60!

Moved to Rochester NY a couple years ago. Having lived in Metro DC, Boston and Los Angeles, drivers in Rochester bring a whole new level of aggression to the game.

I went NP on this. In my current quest for a non-pandemic priced Miata, I’ve come across a lot of RX8's. They seem to range in price from $1-9k. But here’s the thing - all of the ads show beat cars with weeds growing around them (or in actual shops) and are some variation of “Runs Great, No Problems”. This is the

I think the most gratifying thing of shade-tree mechanics is when you’re pretty sure X is the problem, and after getting to X, finding out that holy-cow X is the problem, and I’m a mthfing genius/pro-mechanic.

I put my 2 cars through Carvana just to see what would happen:

I daily drive one of these in the land of salt (01 5-spd X5) - bought mine rough for $2500 and it looked better then this. It takes work to make a German car look beat in Southern California! Also, in my experience, check engine lights are pretty rare on these motors - yes, everything else around the motor will need

Spoiler and the ski-rack did it for me. NP

Couple Questions:

I saw an ad the other day for a super clean NA Miata that was missing its motor. $5k. I’d laugh if this wasn’t the new norm.

Regarding the battery: Sure, there’s probably a drain somewhere, but never look past it just being a dud of a battery. I learned this in my current car - previous owner said that battery was just replaced. Turned out it was - but then the car was parked for a year and the battery couldn’t hold a charge. I replaced it,

Found a photo of my old fork (pretty sure this is from when it went up on Ebay back in 2002-ish).

Some trivia for you, since you seem to dig it:
