Bomani Jones brought up the way Tasha looks and is built compared to Issa and wondered if that was intentional.

Of course there is. The fact that she is "hood" or aspires to manage a bank branch makes her no more basic than Issa or Molly. She has a goal and is moving toward that goal. They are low key snobby about a lot of things. Amanda Seales' character, her husband, and Molly are more open about it but it's there.

Someone on NPR called her "basic" which I find interesting but she has some self-awareness. Many other of the characters just come off as boring like Lawrence or lame like Issa.

He's so lame for that.
