I mean that is THE joke of this moment. “HA! You all said I was a friendless recluse but no, turns out I am a prescient, highly responsible public health expert!”

The Onion is objectively more-informative than most news sources nowadays. Like, someone living in a cave and receiving *no* news except printed-out Onion stories would know more about the way the world actually is than someone watching, say, cable news or reading twitter would after a period of 7 days.

Oh no! Who will run real fast and throw the ball real good now?!

Maybe just have an actual event where everyone takes more and more and more PED’s until only one person is left alive.

And Dick Butkis?

I’ve never heard of One Day at a Time. What the hell even is it?

Eminent domain, tax subsidies, fuel subsidies, the military (in other words: tax subsidies), periodic bailouts.

I mean let’s be honest: GameStop closing for a few weeks is financially the same as GameStop closing forever.

That also works.

Bullshit. There’s no ‘private money’. The only reason these VC and hedge fund and billionaire fortunes exist is because of tax cuts and tax subsidies and business credits and Irish/Dutch ‘tax sandwich’ arbitrage and GOVERNMENT R&D grants.

Because the government refuses to subsidize rails the way they do every other form of transportation.

I’ll do it: I deny that VC is useful. It should be done away with.

That’s exactly the way it should be.

VCs still have their place

The issue is that VC shouldn’t exist. VC is a symptom of a disease called “Undertaxation” where rich people have too much money, to the point where the only thing they have left to try to obtain is “more money” and so we get Juicero and Fyre Festival and Theranos and other silliness. Take more of rich people’s money

Truck drivers aren’t paid very much now. Why would you want them to be paid less?

Could they just hire a taxi?

Or we could just build trains.

Driving is a really complicated task set.

Or we could build trains.
