This is really a matter of what each individual values most. For me, getting a new phone that I can enjoy for 2 years outweighs a vacation that I can only enjoy for 2 days. As long as I don't surpass my overall budget, here's my philosophy: spend money on what's important to you, be a miser on things that aren't.
