Thanks for the link. Maid sounds awesome. I've always wanted to use Hazel, but was kinda turned off by the price tag.

I used an MSI barebones Atom box ($135) and a 1Tb WD Caviar Green drive. I also repurposed the optical bay to hold a second HD.

Don't forget about passwords (LastPass) and bookmarks (Xmarks). Although, if you tend to stick with one browser, you could use it's built-in syncing, too.

Agreed. I think name recognition plays a big role in the popularity of the others. They're really missing out by not giving iCab a try, though.

I'm grandfathered in to the 20GB, $5/yr Google storage plan, so I use Picasa to upload to PicasaWeb / Google+. (After they released Google Drive, the prices went up, but they're still reasonable)

If you use the second suggested solution, however, and change "browser.newtab.url" to "about:blank", then it removes the hide/show button altogether.

I did something similar to make an iPad shoulder bag. I had gotten a simple sleeve case on clearance and attached a shoulder strap from another bag to it.

Zephyr - allows you to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring up the iOS multitasking tray. Also enables multitouch gestures (like the iPad has) to quickly switch between apps.

The TWC wifi in LA is actually pretty good where they have it, but maybe that's just because there's not that many people using it. It is much faster than the free Starbucks wifi, at least.
