When I upgraded to the iPhone 5, Zephyr was the jailbreak app I missed the most.

Suggestion: Put in an interface element that shows me how much local storage Evernote is using. Under account info, maybe? Also, add a sketch / drawing / handwritten notes option, especially for the mobile apps.

I made a bunch of these as inexpensive Christmas gifts for my co-workers a few years ago. This is the formulation that you can find recommended on some laptop manufacturer websites, although I made it slightly more concentrated than the video by starting with 90% isopropyl. I added a custom label that I printed out,

If the vent hole gets clogged, I poke it open with a paperclip or pen tip.

VLC will allow you to save short clips from dvds, if that's what you're after: http://teachertechtips.wordpress.com/2009/11/14/save-a-video-clip-from-a-dvd/

It should be noted that, as of VLC 2.0, this no longer works. There is a work-around, though (and a variation of this also works for Windows): http://lifehacker.com/5888078/vlc-20-breaks-handbrake-dvd-ripping-heres-how-to-fix-it

Whatever encoding program you use should have settings to adjust the output size (try tweaking things like bitrate, dimensions, audio tracks and compression). It all depends on how much quality you're willing to sacrifice to get a reasonable file size. For blu-rays, I use AnyDVD HD to decrypt (on the fly) and

Handbrake does have ripping capability, but does not by default include a library to decrypt protected dvds. The best solution to this is AnyDVD, but you can also manually download the libdvdcss library from VLC (just installing VLC is not enough anymore) and putting it in the appropriate location. Cheap relative to what? AT&T only gives me two texting options, both of which are egregiously overpriced compared to sending that same message via data: http://gizmodo.com/5832245/atts-new-text-plan-overcharges-you-by-10000000

This tip is like the baking equivalent of a test print: before you send 500 copies to the printer, print one first to make sure it comes out right. ;)

This is what came to mind for me :)

I think the Doxie Go has been around for awhile; it's the Doxie One that is the newly-released model (I just got mine!). Also, the Doxie One does support batteries (4x AAA NiMH), they just aren't included.

I'm using my laptop for more and more, but I still like to keep a beefy desktop for gaming and video encoding. So, I want to upgrade/convert my current desktop PC into a hackintosh, reusing the case and hard drives, but upgrading to a new motherboard (Gigabyte Z77-D3H), processor (i5-3570K), ram (8 GB DDR3, already

Although they kind of look like it, the Bose are not IEMs. You're right about the rest, though.

This is really a matter of what each individual values most. For me, getting a new phone that I can enjoy for 2 years outweighs a vacation that I can only enjoy for 2 days. As long as I don't surpass my overall budget, here's my philosophy: spend money on what's important to you, be a miser on things that aren't.
