I did the ICS thing with my laptop the last time I was at a hotel. They had wi-fi in the lobby, but a really poor signal on my floor. I had my Apple TV (watching Dr. Who on Netflix of course), iPad, and iPhone all connected to my makeshift access point. The speed was actually much better than the hotel-provided wi-fi,…

Thanks for the link. Maid sounds awesome. I've always wanted to use Hazel, but was kinda turned off by the price tag.
I used an MSI barebones Atom box ($135) and a 1Tb WD Caviar Green drive. I also repurposed the optical bay to hold a second HD.
Don't forget about passwords (LastPass) and bookmarks (Xmarks). Although, if you tend to stick with one browser, you could use it's built-in syncing, too.
The link is right at the bottom of the article.
Agreed. I think name recognition plays a big role in the popularity of the others. They're really missing out by not giving iCab a try, though.

Windows actually has a standard IR remote scheme. Incidentally, these remotes work with the Xbox-360, as well. So, you could buy a dedicated Windows Media Center remote + USB IR receiver (like this: [www.amazon.com]), and just throw out the remote. Then use some 3rd-party IR software to map the received signals to…
Nice! I didn't know you could do that.
I suspect eating cans full of caramel is probably also linked to obesity. ;)
Thanks, Alton Brown's recipe seems like a much safer way to do it. The dulce de leche grenade was kind of scaring me.
