Wildlife photography is not just about looking good, its also about framing and capturing the actions and moments of life, which this professional photographer pulled off really well.
They are keeping with the cartoony aesthetic. Pokemon games have never been the peak of graphics (or anywhere close), and they have never tried to go for any photorealism.
