When it was originally built for Zune and matured on WP, it was a design language because it applied to those products only. Then they started adapting it to everything else in MS.

Boxes aren't supposed to be used extensively. Metro is about typography, motion and display of content. It's supposed to minimal where it's needed, but obvious and cued. It's a philosophy, not a design language. Think "New York Subway".

Windows 8.X is hardly Metro.

Metro isn't about boxes. Almost everything Windows 8 has done is against Metro.

The problem is that nobody looks for a sports car in a Subaru. It just doesn't fit into the rest of the lineup and is already shadowed by the WRX.

It's pretty much made up of static elements and the only things that do change are the apps in the center and what's in your dash.

Kinect isn't a motion controller. It's a body tracker (IR blaster + IR camera), microphone and camera, much more useful than Wii's system of accelerometers. It could be used in more than just games, and its applications extend beyond just motion gaming. I personally want to see if it can track and sync games/apps…

The real issue is, no one is going to make much use of Kinect (at least on XB1) now. It'll live on PC for sure because of its other practical applications, but it may as well be dead for XB1.

Comes out this summer, not next year.
