James is the biggest crybaby in the series and I would absolutely love to see him in a fight against Green. Green would absolutely destroy him. James is a physical specimen but one thing he definitely isn't is a fighter.

Physical fitness is the one thing the MLS actually has. It’s technical skill that’s lacking. Pirlo said it himself a few weeks ago. MLS is just a bunch of sprinting and chasing. Nobody really works on the technical side of slowing the game down and letting the ball “do the talking”.

(Whispers) not all white men

Feel free to get off of your ass and do something about it.

I think this dude and La Russa are literally the only two people that care about this.

It’s not the game we want, but in Trump’s America, it’s the game we deserve.

i’m willing to be corrected so help me out here. why does deadspin not like AJ? isn’t he the antithesis of all of the things we hate about baseball? he is brash and outspoken in a league full of people who “play the game the right way”. just look at the play that preceded the punch! he bowled into the catcher and then

Now playing

Another great moment in Chicago baseball history:

White Sox fan here. I was at that game and the Cubs fans were going absolutely crazy after AJ got clocked. They weren’t so loud later that inning when Iguchi hit a grand slam and they were blown out. To this day, AJ will go down as one of my top 5 favorite sox players.

Nothing says “Look at how sane and rational I am” like this string of comments and responses.

Thanks, let's do this again in 6 months.

I think Simmons is a fascinating case. Pioneered is a really strong word. But he was one of the first writers to start out blogging about local sports and pop-culture and parlay that into a national gig. And when he was the Boston Sports Guy, he was great. There was really not a lot like him out there. And then he

Despite the fact that Simmons has, uh, limited camera appeal...

Do all soccer/football articles in other countries constantly discuss the relative merits of their league?

Stretch! Stretch! Stretch! *Yawn.

The new owners should move the fighting to the streets or some other exotic locales, like an Air Force hangar or a Japanese Bathhouse.

I think your sunk-cost thinking works the other way for acquiring teams and Phili should factor that into their thinking. As you note Bradford is a relatively cheap starter for any team. I would, too would want a 2nd rounder plus maybe a 3rd of 4th.

This is demonstrably untrue. I watched Arrieta’s last start. He was throwing 140 MPH and breaking swung bats in half. So you need to check your facts.
