Been a while since I read it, too. I think the implication was that the “children” were not so much destroying the Earth as converting it to energy to use in their ascension. Still kinda sucks, especially if you’ve finally just finished remodeling the basement.

I’d say it would have to be more powerful than that, since there will be no abathur body (which can do lots on his own) and you can’t change who you’re helping. Also, by being killed, you’re losing two players, instead of only on (in the case of abby).
