Your first point is utterly irrelevant. They clearly didn’t make the Switch screen out of a plastic stronger than steel.

The switch’s screen is made of plastic. The dock is made of plastic. Plastic can scratch plastic. If it were made of glass the dock wouldn’t be able to do anything to it, but if you happen to put it in at the wrong angle the dock can scratch the screen very easily.

Now it’s even more awkward to open a large case with a tiny cartridge inside. At least before there were skimpy instructions and paper inserts.
