Because not enough people bought this:

THIS! IS! WRONG!!

Boomers deserve every bit of ridicule that can be thrown at them.

The “Ok, Boomer” shit, like a lot of our culture, is stupid.

And she won her lawsuit against the company that fired her (they were withholding her severance pay),so I hope she gave them the other middle finger!

Not all heroes wear capes.

She is the hero we need right now.

“Woman lands new job thanks to President Trump”

Krispy Cream donuts are gross. Might as well just eat a pile of sugar in a tough dough shell.

No. a) we’re talking about THIS country, specifically. The US. b) public health care systems in other countries are successes, not failures. You’re arguing in bad faith, so this conversation is over. any further replies will be dismissed. Not having it. Grow up.

Why aren’t we more outraged at such a waste of tax dollars trying to impeach Trump?

I’m also much older than 17. You have seen a lot of ideas never come to fruition. We have *never* had M4A, so you have *never* seem M4A come to fruition or fail.

It wouldn’t be that hard. Local governments already appraise property. And financial firms already have reporting requirements. Just expand those and you’ll capture the vast majority of property. Make insurance companies report too (to capture those boats and expensive paintings) and that should just about do it.

It won’t happen. But some of it might happen, and then it will be easier for some more of it to happen. The ACA is in many ways ridiculously half-assed but now people don’t want to lose it and they want more. What matters is that a serious presidential candidate is putting it on the table in a serious way.

“Logic - if I’m paying for myself on private + having the tax burden of someone else dipping into our paychecks for demCare, it just doesn’t sit right.”

Holy shit. It’s almost like burning social issues, large public events with massive viewership, and day to day life are all connected somehow. I think you’re on to something here. We should really start a community of seamlessly intertwined blogs that cover these things.

The leading cause of bankruptcy in the United States is MeDiCaL dEbT

Silly me: Being all logical and stuff. You’re definitely right about the screaming. But I would imagine raising the Medicare tax is much easier to accept for certain folks, namely the Fox News viewers and age group, than cutting defense spending. Or adding another tax on investing. Or other nickle-and-diming.

“Let me decide how I want to spend the hard-earned cash and out of the surplus donate to charity/betterment of self.”

Because the minute you raise any taxes on the middle class for any reason you’re going to get Republicans and centrist Dems screaming “Warren will raise your TAXES!!!! Another tax and spend Democrat!!!” It doesn’t matter if overall costs will be lower for the middle class even with a tax increase, the right has spent
