Hell we had an intelligent, logical and respectable president and they went crazy because of the color of his skin. And his tan suit. And using Grey Poupon. And him golfing occasionally.

Either a below average human or a brilliant beast.

Since it seems we're doing this - albums I've not stopped listening to:

But if there's a song list, Alaska needs to be on it.

Yay, I've been scrolling through looking for someone to mention that one - since it came out way back in January it seems everyone has forgotten it - what a great album.

I'll second this - it's really a great album. I also really like the one she did with Mirah, but nobody else seemed to.

One of the best memes I ever saw was of Fieri on TV and the caption read "A garden gnome comes to life and decides to travel the country eating garbage"

I love the first four solo albums - even with the hokey singing. We used to listen to Rising Force and Marching Out on the way to the mall and sing along to I Am a Viking, Disciples of Hell and others and just laugh ourselves silly. But the guitar work is unimpeachable.

Very few albums are perfect, but I'm right there with you.

No, he'll be hired by Fox News.

Which part of the Watchtower solo - he goes from a lot of phase/flanger to a slide with echo to a cleanish overdriven and then to more phaser. It's like he was dancing on the pedals.

I Am A Viking, Dark Star, Hiroshima Mon Amour

I've seen SRV's cover of Little Wing - but for a totally different (and to me, ineffective) cover, Clapton does one too - seems to rip all the subtly out of the chords and the solo is so-so.

Upvoted for Tommy Keene. Saw him live with Paul Westerberg - great player.

He also is all over Lloyd Cole's first two solo albums and is absolutely stellar.

I can never get over how good Maiden's Live after Death album is - and the solo on "2 Minutes to Midnight" remains my favorite I could list that whole album for the solos alone.

Suffragette City and his lead work on Starman as well.

Blackmore is hit or miss for me, but that is definitely a hit. He did some really good work with Rainbow that gets overlooked.

For Mould, I'd go with Judas Cradle - just incredible guitar throughout that song.

Upvoted for first mention of Light My Fire I've seen. I'd also include LA Woman and Land Ho by Kreiger.
